Design: Gavin Scott

Based, in plan, on the cross section of a Nautilus shell, this very small extremely unique house is an expression of open plan living on a superb clifftop perch.

The heavy timber framed umbrella roof, perches lightly over the flowing spiralled mudbrick walls, which stand separate through a glazed junction. Detailed by the owners to suit their unique position and personalities, it carries a beautiful sense of being, whilst integrating smoothly into the escarpment.

One of our earliest commissions, during a period of intense study of curves and natural lines.
